Currently, I offer three types of collections for newborn sessions. My middle collection, The Star Light, Star Bright Collection is a perfect choice for those who are looking for something a little more than the Lullaby Collection but don’t need as many options as are provided in The You are My Sunshine Collection. It involves just a few setups, with the baby being wrapped to some extent through the entire session. I aim for about an hour for this particular session. My minimum number of setups is three, and I can get through one or two more depending on how soundly the baby is sleeping (or if they are awake, how cooperative they are being). This beautiful little one was a pretty solid sleeper, so I was able to give her a few different setups. You can see that she’s wrapped throughout (no naked images or outfit images). But there is still a variety to the images by swapping out different layers and colors of wraps. She was sleeping pretty soundly, so at the end, I was able to snag a couple with just a “loose” wrap over her, but I don’t do this at all sessions.
Typically I talk through the color preferences with parents ahead of time. I always setup my studio the day before I have a session so that I can take my time selecting all of the layering pieces, wraps, props and little headbands/hats that I will be using for the session. And then on the morning of I can make any last minute changes as I feel are necessary after looking at everything a second time. I like to pair a lot of different textures within my setups for a layered but cohesive look that is visually appealing.
Parent shots are included in this session if desired, but siblings are an add-on to this session (pets count as siblings). This collection is a great option for those looking for just a few beautiful images of their child without the investment of a full session. All sessions are done on weekday mornings, and I typically start my sessions at 9 am.
